I am an artist, photographer, and musician from the US working with natural materials and analog processes. I studied Visual Storytelling at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, and completed an MFA in Experimental and Documentary Art at Duke University where I created the hybrid film and live music installation/performance, Haven. In 2025 I was awarded the Cassilhaus Biannual Travel Fellowship for my documentary project exploring my ancestral connection to Iceland. The multi-media exhibition from this fellowship, Til Íslands (To Iceland), is now on view at the Center For Documentary Studies at Duke from June-October, 2026.
I also write and perform music and have released two EPs — Haven (2022) and Reverse Bloom (2024). Across my visual work and music, nostalgia, solitude, and a lifelong relationship with the natural world remain central.
The Sustainable Darkroom is an arts organization challenging conventional photographic methods in order to envision a more sustainable future for the medium. I admire their dedication to experimentation, artist-centered practices, and conversations around the environmental impact of photographic technologies.
I see both the Sustainable Darkroom and re-Framed as organizations that wish to challenge the status quo of their niches—recognizing the potential of art and artists to shape the world around us, in ways we believe will positively impact our present and future.
I feel aligned with the ideals of re-Framed, and feel that contributing my writing and editing skills to uplift an artist organization would be meaningful and fulfilling work! I am interested in diving into the particularities of the art modeling world, exploring the unanswered questions that motivate the work re-Framed does to expand conversations around the industry, and bring greater visibility to this work. As an artist, the types of writing I have experience with include grant proposals, short pieces of non-fiction, films, press releases, and newsletters. I feel that working in this editorial communication role would draw upon all this experience, as a natural evolution of my work as both artist, and voice in the greater arts community. I do not believe in writing with the use of any AI, and respect that re-Framed necessitates a human driven process. I hope for the opportunity to continue a conversation about the potential of this role, and thank you for your time in getting to know me.
